The literal meaning of Jannah’ is a green garden, whetther in the earth or the heavens. According to the religious interpretation, it is a place which Allah has created for the believers (mo’meneen) and His virtuous slaves, in which they shall dwell forever.
Our final destination is the life of the Hereafter Where we end up, Jannah (Paradise) or Jahannam (Hell-fire) depends on what we worked towards in this life. Paradise is the aim and the hope of every Muslim. There are many levels of Paradise depending on how righteous a person is on Earth.,the highest level that all Muslims are encouraged to ask for is Jannatul Firdaus.
“It is prepared for those who guard against evil”. (Surah-al-Aale Imraan: 132)
“And the garden shall be poughtnear for those who guard (against evil)”.(Surah-ash-Shur’ara? 90)
Anas narrated that Rasool Allah said, “When you pass by gardens of paradise, eat fruits of them. The Sahaba said, “What are the gardens of Paradise?” He said, “The gatherings of Zikr.” (Tirmizi)
Jannat is a very large and very beautiful place. It has been made by Allah Ta'ala for Muslims. The ground is made of saffron and ambergris (a wax-like substance) instead of gravel, there are huge mansions made of pearls, diamonds and beautiful jewellery to house the residents of Jannat. There are 100 ranks in Jannat. Each rank is as large in breadth as the sky to the ground.
Jabir b. Abdullah reported that Allaah's Messenger
(sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) said that the inmates of Paradise would
eat therein and they would also drink, but they would neither void
excrement, nor suffer catarrh, nor pass water, and their eating (would
be digested) in the form of belching and their sweat would be musk aged
they would glorify and praise Allaah as easily ai you breathe.
It is beyond the capacity of the people of this world to have a comprehension of the bliss of Paradise. Only a pief belief in it’s existence is sufficient, and one should not go into details as to where it is or how it is. It can be compared to a child in a mother’s womb who is not aware of the outside world.
